About Us
Santa Rosa Salsa is Your Salsa Connection for Sonoma County, presiding at the helm of an active and growing Latin music and dance community. It has become well known for creating the energy of joy and connection through Latin music and dance events.
Propelled by the purpose of bringing live Salsa music to Sonoma County and creating community, visionary entrepreneur Irene Silva founded Santa Rosa Salsa in 2001. Following the rhythm of her heart, Silva began her vigorous pursuit of Salsa dance in 2000. At the same time, she began conceptualizing a fundraiser that would help support a deserving cause. In only five weeks, Silva secured a venue, hired a band, assembled volunteers, and hosted what became her first success story as a promoter. This cause raised funds to help feed numerous deserving children from the Kids Kingdom Orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico.
After her first major event, good fortune reappeared in 2001 — this time in the form of opportunity when the historic Flamingo Resort Hotel presented Irene with an opening to host Sunday nights at the Flamingo Hotel Lounge. Destined for success, the hotel Lounge would become Santa Rosa Salsa’s domain each Sunday for the next 20 years.
Attracting people of all ages, ethnicities, and skill levels ever since — Santa Rosa Salsa sustains a devout following of motivated attendees eager to share their passion for Latin music and dance.
Santa Rosa Salsa also presents the popular Dancing Under the Stars at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery and other North Bay corporate events. Featured musical guests have included such renowned artists as Avance, Somos El Son, Louie Romero y Su Grupo Mazacote, and the Grammy Award Winning Pacific Mambo Orchestra.
