Cha Cha Workshop

with Kevin Cullinen

A portion of the proceeds benefit Cesar Chavez Language Academy's future music program.

Cha Cha music first came about in the 1940s and 1950s, and like the New York style of salsa, the break steps also emphasize the '2' and '6' counts of the music, with the cha cha or triple steps happening in between those main counts. Often when cha cha music comes on, people clear the dance floor, but they are missing out on one of the most enjoyable styles of Latin music to dance to. So our goal for this class is to get dancers comfortable with the basic cha cha counts, steps and easy partnerwork combinations, so you will never have to sit out another cha cha song again.
